Olivier signs new Warriors deal

South Africa international Wynand Olivier has committed his future to Warriors after signing a new contract with the Club.

The 2007 Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok joined from French Top 14 side Montpellier in October 2015 and has proved an impressive addition to the Warriors backline.

The centre has become a first-team regular this campaign, making nine appearances and notching his first Aviva Premiership try in December against Leicester Tigers.

Olivier, 32, has represented South Africa 38 times with his last appearance in June 2014 in a win over Wales, while he also played for the world-famous Barbarians in 2015.

Director of Rugby Dean Ryan said: “Wynand has brought some real strength to our midfield and we’re delighted he’s signed a new deal.

“We’ve been really impressed with his efforts and his experience is invaluable to our young squad.”

Olivier added: “I’ve really enjoyed my first few months at Warriors with everybody helping me fit in.

“There is a great culture at the Club and all the foundations are in place for us to kick on and become a successful Premiership side so I’m looking forward to the future.”
