The Warriors Community Foundation has been presented with a plaque in recognition of its recent status as a Sports Leaders UK Leadership Academy.
The Foundation is one of only a small number of organisations throughout the UK to receive this award which is in recognition of the excellent standards of delivery of the Sports Leaders UK awards and qualifications.
CEO of Sports Leaders UK Richard Norman said: “This award recognises the Club as a beacon of good practice and a shining example of a centre going the extra mile in support of its learners.
“The Warriors Community Foundation has earned this unique status because the staff have been able to demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy of Sports Leaders UK and the benefits of leadership to young people and the community.
“In particular, the Foundation has provided exemplar pathways that offer real benefits and opportunities to learners.”
The Club is the first rugby club in the UK to receive such an accolade.
HITZ Senior Mentor and Sports Leaders UK Tutor for The Warriors Community Foundation Daniel Hart said: “We are delighted to receive such recognition. We strongly believe in helping to develop young leaders in sport and this course is such a great way of engaging people in a fun and interesting way.”
