Warriors reach semis at Rosslyn Park Sevens

Warriors made it to the semi-finals of Thursday’s Rosslyn Park Floodlit Sevens tournament.

After sweeping aside Loughborough University and specialist Sevens side SKRUM Smugglers in their pool, Warriors contested an entertaining semi-final with Rosslyn Park.

After going 21 points behind, Warriors fought back valiantly to make it 21-19 before Tiff Eden’s late conversion agonisingly bounced back off the upright.

And the hosts recovered the ball from the restart to boot it out, sending them into the final.

Specialist Sevens side Rambling Jesters, who defeated last year’s champions Harlequins in their semi-final, went on to win the tournament.

Three Pears Academy Manager Mark Hewitt said: “It was a great effort from the boys and we came very close to making the final.

“We had a good mix of senior and Academy players in the side and it was nice to see players like Andy Short and Max Stelling looking sharp.

“We were really pleased with young Tom Dodd who’s played for our Under 18s this season. He did a fantastic job playing alongside some of our more senior players.”

Warriors Sevens results:
