Warriors vs Saracens – The Danger Men

Warriors host Saracens on Saturday (kick-off 3.30pm) as the curtain falls on the 2015/16 campaign.

Ahead of the clash, we take a closer look at three of the Saracens stars who will be on show at Sixways.

Tickets are still available for the game by clicking here, visiting the Ticket Office or calling 01905 459309.

Alex Goode

One of Saracens’ most consistent players in recent years, the full-back has made his case to be England’s first choice 15 with a string of fine performances this season.

Able to play full-back and fly-half, Goode’s ability to kick, distribute and run gives him versatility, making him one of Saracens’ most important players. He has an 86% goal-kicking success rate to boot.

Goode made his international debut in 2012 against South Africa and has been consistent in matchday squads ever since with 20 caps to his name.

Chris Ashton

Having started off as a rugby league full-back for Wigan, Ashton made his debut in 2005 scoring two tries in a victory over Huddersfield. He went on to make his first Super League appearance aged 18.

In 2007 he switched codes to join Northampton Saints and scored on his debut as his side made a swift return to Premiership rugby.

In the 2009/10 season a run of 15 tries in 16 games saw him called-up to the England squad under Martin Johnson and he notched his first international try against Australia in Sydney.

After missing out on the Rugby World Cup squad earlier this year and only recently returning from a ten-week ban, the winger will be keen to stake his case for an England recall under Eddie Jones.

Charlie Hodgson

England and British Lions international playmaker and all time Premiership leading points scorer Charlie Hodgson joined Saracens at the start of the 2011/12 season.

It took Hodgson only 80 minutes to blaze across the England rugby firmament when scoring a record 44 points on his Test debut against Romania at Twickenham 11 years ago.

Between February 2003 and November 2006, Halifax-born Charlie started all except one of the 24 Tests for which he was available. He had helped England towards a Grand Slam in 2003, missed the subsequent RWC, required a second operation on an anterior cruciate ligament injury and was absent for eight months.

He helped Sale Sharks win the Premiership title in 2006 and has also toured with the British and Irish Lions.

A shrewd and experienced playmaker, Hodgson's performances for Saracens saw him return to the England side in the 2012 RBS 6 Nations, where he formed a midfield partnership with his club colleague Owen Farrell.

Following England’s tour to South Africa in the summer of 2012, Hodgson announced that he would be retiring from international rugby.

But he continues to lead by example for his club and, on the opening day of the 2012/13 season at Twickenham, he became the first player in Premiership history to reach 2,000 points.
