Warriors players enjoy international success

Six Warriors players were in international action at the weekend and, despite two players appearing on opposing teams in the same match, none of them ended up on the losing side.

James Johnston and Jaba Bregvadze were up against each other in a front row battle as Samoa hosted Georgia.

The teams went toe-to-toe for the entire game, with former Warrior David Lemi crashing over for the hosts, and the two sides couldn’t be separated as the match finished as a 19-19 stalemate.

Tevita Cavubati was also involved in a tight game in the Southern Hemisphere as Fiji battled back from 15-0 down to claim a 23-18 victory over Tonga.

Meanwhile, three of Warriors’ Three Pears Academy stars were involved as England Under 20s racked-up their second consecutive win of the World Rugby Under 20 Championship.

Huw Taylor started at lock and was later replaced by teammate Andrew Kitchener as England cruised to a 44-0 victory over Scotland.

Jack Singleton also came off the bench and continued his prolific scoring form for his country as he crossed the whitewash for his second try of the tournament.
