Warriors set for Singha Sevens

Warriors will kick-off the 2016/17 campaign with a trip to Newcastle Falcons’ Kingston Park on Saturday 30 July for the Singha Premiership Rugby Sevens.

Warriors narrowly missed out on booking a place at the Series Finals last year, but will be hoping to go one better this time round.

In Group D, Warriors will get their day underway against Leicester Tigers at 3.25pm – a side they thrashed 27-5 in the competition last season.

They will then take on hosts Newcastle at 4.20pm, looking to gain revenge for last year’s defeat – the only game they lost in the tournament.

Warriors’ final game will see them come face to face with Sale Sharks, who pipped them to the Series Finals Day on points difference in 2015 (kick-off 4.50pm).

For the two top teams, there’s a spot at Finals Day at stake, which takes place at Wasps’ Ricoh Arena on Saturday 7 August.

Head Coach Carl Hogg said: “We'll be taking a young group to Newcastle where we expect them to play with enthusiasm and expression in their bid to make the Finals at the Ricoh Arena.”
