As part of Warriors’ Lead the Way Campaign, the Club welcomed a young person to Sunday’s victory over Newcastle Falcons.
The young person has an anxiety disorder which escalates when noise prevents him from visiting busy and loud places.
After two previous attempts, the young supporter made it to Sixways on Sunday with the support of Bryce Heem and Dean Hammond to watch his first live rugby match.
The youngster thoroughly enjoyed his visit to Sixways and only had to put his ear defenders on a couple of times during the afternoon.
Head of the Warriors Community Foundation Carol Hart said: “We were so pleased to be able to support this visit to Sixways.
“At the third attempt we managed to welcome this young person into the stadium. It goes to show that if you reach out to people and offer them the support they need, anything is possible.
“We look forward to welcoming our new fan back in the near future.”
#LeadTheWay is an overarching campaign, launched in March 2016 by the Warriors Community Foundation, which highlights the issues faced by people who have lost the ability to socially interact.
This includes people who are full-time carers for others, people who suffer from mental illnesses or physical disabilities and people who are living alone and have lost the confidence to visit busy places which can cause them anxiety.
