Te’o named on bench for England’s clash with Wales

Ben Te’o has been named on the bench for England as they prepare to face Wales in the RBS 6 Nations in Cardiff on Saturday (kick-off 4.50pm, BBC One).

The centre will be looking to add to his four international caps after scoring the winning try for his country against France last weekend.

There are two changes to the England starting XV that defeated France 19-16 at Twickenham Stadium last weekend. Jack Nowell starts on the right wing with Jack Clifford named at flanker to win his ninth cap.

Tom Wood and Jonny May are included as finishers in an otherwise unchanged bench.

England Head Coach Eddie Jones said: “It’s been a great week of focused preparation and we can’t wait to play Wales.

“Playing Wales in Cardiff is one of the biggest games in world rugby and we’re excited. These are the games you want to be part of as a player and a coach.

“It’s a game that is going to be decided on the basics of the game. You do the fundamentals of the game well and you win the game of rugby. We have a young team eager to play well at the great Principality Stadium.

“We don’t need extra motivation this week. We play Test rugby because we want to be the best for England.”
