Victory for Warriors trio in Under 20 Championship

Warriors Academy trio Justin Clegg, Will Butler and Tom Dodd were all in action at the weekend as the World Rugby Under 20 Championship continued in Georgia.

Clegg got himself on the scoreboard as he went over for a try during England’s hard-earned 34-22 win over Wales, while Butler was named on the bench.

England’s second win of the tournament puts them in pole position in Pool A ahead of their clash with Australia on Thursday.

England Head Coach Ian Vass said: “Overall you have to be pleased with a bonus point victory and I thought our boys worked really, really hard and we had some purple patches where we played some really good stuff and we had some periods where we defended really well.

“There probably wasn’t a flow to the game and it wasn’t the best looking game but in these pool stages it’s all about getting through them.”

Elsewhere in the competition, Dodd came off the bench for Scotland as they secured their first ever win over Ireland at the World Rugby Under 20 Championship.

Dodd’s side racked up five tries in a 32-28 win as they moved to second position in Pool B ahead of their final pool clash with Italy on Thursday.
