Warriors and Valkyries in international action  

A host of Warriors and Valkyries were in international action at the weekend, with most enjoying wins representing their respective sides.

Ben Te’o played the full game for the British & Irish Lions on Saturday as they inflicted the first defeat of the season on Super Rugby outfit the Crusaders with a 12-3 win in Christchurch.
 
The Warriors centre beat more defenders (five) than any other Lion as he stakes his claim for a place in the Test side out in New Zealand.
 
Meanwhile England beat Argentina 38-34 in a dramatic game in San Juan in Sam Vesty’s first game as Skills Coach for the national side.
 
Jack Singleton was named on the bench for England but will be hoping for his first cap in this Saturday’s second Test with the Pumas.
 
Francois Hougaard came off the bench for South Africa on Saturday, helping to create a try for Jan Serfontein as the Springboks went on to beat France 37-14 in Pretoria.
  
Elsewhere, Joe Taufete’e played 39 minutes at loosehead prop for USA as they lost 55-19 against Ireland in New Jersey.
           
Worcester Valkyries’ Lydia Thompson was also in action for England Women as they beat Australia 53-10 in the first game of the 2017 International Women’s Rugby Series in New Zealand.
