Hammond named Miller & Carter Player of the Month

Warriors winger Dean Hammond has picked up the October Miller & Carter Player of the Month award.

The paceman started October in style as he crossed the whitewash against Bath Rugby before a barnstorming display for Worcester Cavaliers as they won their first Premiership Rugby A League game of the season, in which the flier bagged a brace.

And after a late call-up to the Warriors squad for their Aviva Premiership trip to Harlequins, the South African made a huge impact off the bench with two tries in the last 15 minutes to help his side bag two bonus points.

Hammond picked up 19 per cent of the votes to beat Joe Taufete’e (15 per cent) to the prize, despite the USA hooker’s match-winning hat-trick against Brive in the European Challenge Cup.

Australian Jono Lance picked up 13 per cent of the votes and was closely followed by Ethan Waller (12 per cent).

Hammond picks up a £50 voucher to spend at the new Miller & Carter restaurant in Worcester after his standout month in the Blue and Gold.
