Press Conference Notes – 21.11.17

Warriors Director of Rugby Gary Gold spoke to the press on Tuesday afternoon to preview Saturday’s Aviva Premiership clash with Leicester Tigers at Welford Road (kick-off 3pm).

Here’s what he had to say:

• Gary is pleased with Saturday’s performance against Northampton Saints and says the try bonus point is a testament to how hungry the players are to win games.

• The side need to find consistency and back up Saturday’s performance with strong performances in the coming weeks.

• When influential players are available for selection it gives the rest of the squad a big lift and extra confidence.

• Leicester Tigers have quality throughout their squad and are likely to be physical and direct when Warriors travel to Welford Road.

• Warriors have players who want to play attacking rugby and that is illustrated by the number of tries over the last few games. It’s about striking a balance between attacking and defending.

• There are one or two players carrying knocks but there are no fresh major injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s game.

• Contract talks with players are going well and there will be announcements in the coming months.

• Things are going well behind the scenes and the players are continuing to work hard to gain the rewards on matchdays.
