Denton wins back-to-back Player of the Month awards

Scotland man picks up second Player of the Month award

Back row David Denton has won back-to-back Miller & Carter Player of the Month awards after scooping Warriors’ January prize.

The Scotsman was in scintillating form as he played all five of Warriors’ games in December and he was at it again throughout January with his all-action displays.

Denton bagged a try in the first game of 2018 as Warriors went down to Bath Rugby before a strong 80-minute performance against Connacht Rugby a week later in an enthralling, physical encounter that finished all square.

Denton missed the trip to Brive but was back in the side to take on Exeter Chiefs at the end of January and was on the scoresheet once again as he powered over for one of Warriors’ five tries in the win over the Premiership champions.

The back row picked up 25 per cent of the votes, edging lock Darren Barry in second with 21 per cent of the votes.

Warriors’ November Player of the Month and December’s Premiership Player of the Month Josh Adams, was in joint-third position with 18 per cent, after scoring three tries in three games during January, while fellow winger Tom Howe landed 18 per cent of the votes following his two scores in two outings.

But Denton was the man who came out on top, and his stunning form has seen him rewarded with a call-up to Scotland’s NatWest 6 Nations squad.

The big forward picks up a £50 voucher to spend at Miller & Carter restaurant in Worcester after his impressive month in the Blue and Gold.
