Vesty and Cross to leave Sixways this summer

Coaching duo to leave Warriors

Warriors can confirm that Backs Coach Sam Vesty and Breakdown Coach Simon Cross will be leaving the Club at the end of the season.

Thirty-six-year-old Vesty has been at Sixways for five years after joining Warriors as Transition Coach in 2013. He was promoted to Backs Coach in February 2015.

Vesty said: “I have really loved my time at Worcester Warriors and I’ve enjoyed working with all the players and staff.

“I want to say a huge thank you to the Club for giving me the opportunity when my playing career finished.

“There have been some highs and lows with lots of comings and goings but I have learnt a lot from these experiences and take away some very fond memories.

“I want to thank the fans for their support and wish all the players and backroom staff the very best for the future and I will always look forward to coming back to Sixways.”

Meanwhile, 37-year-old Cross will leave Sixways after a five-year spell at the Club. Cross joined Warriors as Defence Coach ahead of the 2013/14 season before combining a dual role as Breakdown Coach at Warriors alongside being Head Coach at Birmingham Moseley.

Cross said: “I’ve enjoyed my time at Sixways and would like to place my thanks on record to everyone at the Club. I wish Warriors the best of luck in the future.”

Warriors Director of Rugby Alan Solomons added: “I’d like to thank both Sam and Simon for their hard work over the past five seasons. We wish both of them all the best in their future endeavours.”
