Worcester Warriors are currently recruiting a motivated person to join our award-winning HITZ Team.
Based at our new HITZ Hub at Redditch Town Football Club, the successful candidate will be given a fixed one-year contract. This post is for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and recruit appropriate learners to the programme.
• Support the learners with life skills and mentor them through issues affecting their day to day life.
• Help them to make long term positive life choices.
• Support the HITZ Manager and Team in the further development/expansion of the programme in line with the Warriors Community Foundation’s strategic aims.
Specific Responsibilities
• To take the lead Officer role with the new HITZ Hub in Redditch.
• Offer cover as and when required for the Worcester and Kidderminster HITZ programmes.
• Organise, set-up and lead rugby and multi-sports activity on site and at identified locations, co-ordinating competitions and events as appropriate.
• Deliver social inclusion sessions and one-to-one mentoring of students as appropriate and as agreed with the HITZ Manager.
• Keep accurate monitoring records for all sessions and contribute to the gathering of analysis and evaluation.
• Work in partnership with Education Provider and support functional skills and foundation learning courses in the classroom.
• Work with safe neighbourhood teams, youth groups, schools and other local agencies to encourage links for the purpose of recruitment and ongoing support.
• Source local volunteering opportunities as appropriate.
• Signpost the learners to positive progression routes: further education, apprenticeships and employment.
• Offer additional support to the HITZ Manager, HITZ Team, the Foundation Team and the brand of Worcester Warriors as and when required to do so.
Person Specification
• A highly motivated individual who has empathy with the complex individual needs of young people.
• Minimum degree level preferred but not essential.
• Minimum level 2 rugby or multi-sports coaching qualification.
• Willingness to work as a team and put the needs of the learner first at all times.
• Clean Driving License.
• This post is subject to an enhanced DBS clearance.
