Three more Warriors sign new contracts

Three more Warriors players have committed themselves to the club by signing new contracts.

Scrum-half Michael Heaney, fly-half Jamie Shillcock and hooker Isaac Miller have all penned new deals following the example of Ted Hill and Ollie Lawrence who signed up last week.

Heaney, who joined Warriors from Doncaster Knights last summer having started his career with Ulster, said: “I have really enjoyed challenging myself in the Premiership so I am very happy to be extending my Sixways stay.

“I have learnt a lot from the coaches and the other scrum-halves at the Club since I arrived in the summer so I will be working hard to keep improving as a player.”

Shillock, like Hill and Lawrence is a product of the Three Pears Warriors Academy who made have his first team debut in the second leg of the 2015 Championship semi-final against London Scottish while he was still at Warwick School.

“I have some great memories of being part of this group of players and I am delighted to have signed a new deal with the Club,” Shillcock said.

“It’s nice to have the confidence from the coaches at a young age and I want to repay that confidence with my performances.

“Our squad depth is greater than ever and I’m looking forward to pushing on individually and as a team in the future.”

Miller, 24,  arrived at Sixways from London Scottish in the summer but fractured his collarbone in the opening pre-season match against Benetton Rugby in Treviso in August.

The Scotland Under-20s international made his competitive Warriors debut as a replacement in last Friday’s clash with Pau in the European Challenge Cup.

“The opening few months of the season were obviously a very frustrating time for me as I wasn’t able to get out on the pitch,” Miller said.

“But the environment at the Club is fantastic and I have massively enjoyed being part of this group.

“The Club have been fantastic with me in helping me overcome my injury and I am very grateful for the support of the backroom staff, coaches and players.
“It was great to make my debut in France last week and I am delighted to have signed a new deal.”
