Williams puts pen to paper on new deal

Matti Williams has committed his future to Warriors after putting pen to paper on a new contract at Sixways.

The versatile forward, who arrived at Sixways from Northampton Saints in the summer of 2016, made his debut for the Club against Leicester Tigers in October 2016 and has gone on to make 22 first-team appearances.

Twenty-seven-year old Williams arrived at Sixways as a hooker but has reverted to his preferred position of openside flanker and impressed in this position during European Challenge Cup victories over Stade Francais and Ospreys earlier this season.

Williams said: “I have immensely enjoyed my time at Warriors so am over the moon to have signed a new contract with the Club.

“I have been fortunate to work with some top-class coaches and players and feel I have progressed as a player over the last three seasons.”

Warriors Director of Rugby Alan Solomons said: “Matti has put in some impressive performances this season and was deservedly rewarded with a start in the recent Premiership clash with Gloucester. It is really pleasing to see him extend his stay here at Sixways.”
