Adams keeps Wales on course for Grand Slam

Warriors’ wing Josh Adams kept Wales on course for a Guinness Six Nations Grand Slam with his third try in as many matches to help set up an 18-11 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield.

Adams went over for Wales’ first try after 12 minutes which was his fourth try in as many matches with him also crossing for Warriors against Harlequins at The Stoop.

Wales extended their record winning sequence to 13 and a victory over Ireland in their final match next Saturday would clinch their first Six Nations title since 2013.

England bounced back from their defeat by Wales with a 57-14 win over Italy at Twickenham with Warriors’ centre Ben Te’o making his first appearance of the competition.

Te’o forged a powerful midfield combination with Manu Tuilagi and helped England to an emphatic bonus point win.

Warriors’ hooker Joe Taufete’e took his record for most tries by a front row forward in international rugby with a brace in USA’s thrilling 30-25 victory over Canada in their final match of the Americas Rugby Championship on Friday.

Taufete’e surpassed former Ireland hooker Keith Wood’s record of 15 tries by a front row forward in last week’s defeat by Uruguay and scored USA’s opening try in the first half.

He added a second in the second half to take his tally to 20 tries in just 22 international appearances for the Eagles.

But USA needed a last-gasp try from scrum-half Ruben de Haas to snatch victory in a thrilling finale.
Warriors pair James Scott and Kai Owen helped England Under-20s to a 35-10 bonus point victory over Italy at Bedford’s Goldington Road ground on Friday.

Lock Scott started the match and loosehead prop Owen came on as a replacement in the second half.

The win gave England an even record of won two-lost two from their four matches in this season’s Under-20s Six Nations. England host Scotland at Northampton in their final match on March 15.

Valkyries captain Lark Davies helped England Women stay on course for a Six Nations Grand Slam by scoring one of their nine tries in a 55-0 demolition of Italy in front of a record non-World Cup crowd of 10,000 at Exeter.

Davies, back in the starting line-up, crossed for the opening try after 12 minutes to set England on their way to a fourth straight bonus point win.

Four Valkyries players – Jasmine Joyce, Alex Callender, Alisha Butchers and Ffion Lewis – helped Wales Women edge out Scotland 17-15 with a last minute converted try at Scotstoun in Glasgow on Friday.

Valkyries had six players on duty with England Women Under-20s who were beaten 31-12 by France in the first of back-to-back matches in Strasbourg on Saturday.

Carys Cox, Clara Clarke, Megan Varley, Akina Gondwe and Cara Brincat all started for England and debutant prop Lauren Leatherland was on the bench. England and France meet again at Newbury on March 16.
