Councillor Udall sponsors Warriors Women

Local Councillor Richard Udall is throwing his support behind Warriors Women this season.

The Labour Councillor who represents Worcester St John’s on Worcestershire County Council, is a long-time supporter of Warriors men’s and women’s teams.

He has also extended his support as a shirt sponsor of Warriors Women who will reciprocate by helping Udall develop the new Dines Green girls’ rugby club in the city.

“I am exceedingly proud and pleased to be able to support Worcester Warriors Women,” Cllr Udall said.

“In return they will be supporting the community I represent by providing volunteers to help with the Dines Green Youth Club and by supporting a new Dines Green Girls Rugby Club to help bring physical activity and rugby to new communities.

“Their work will be creating opportunities for girls living in St John’s and Dines Green to play rugby for the first time.  It’s a true partnership which will return dividends for both rugby and the wider St John’s community”.

Warriors Operations Director Peter Kelly thanked Cllr Udall for his continued support of Warriors Women and for the work he does to promote sport in Worcester.

“We greatly value and appreciate the good relations we have with councillors of all parties in Worcester and Worcestershire,” Kelly said.

“In particular we would like to thank Richard Udall for his support – both physical on matchdays and financial as a shirt sponsor – of the team.

“We are delighted to be able to support all that Richard does in promoting sport in general, and women’s rugby specifically, in the city and hope that the establishment of a girls rugby team in Dines Green will produce future Warriors Women players and supporters.”
