Sixways gears up for Cure Parkinson’s Cup

Teams from across the UK and Europe will be competing in the inaugural Cure Parkinson’s Cup in aid of Cure Parkinson’s Trust at Sixways on Sunday April 19.

The five-a-side football tournament be fully inclusive so that players of all abilities, with any degree of Parkinson’s Disease symptoms, any age, gender or level of fitness can participate.

Matches in the group stage will last ten minutes. There will then be a knockout stage followed by the final with the winners lifting the first Cure Parkinson’s Cup.

In addition to the football there will be plenty of activities to entertain the players, their families and supporters including live music in the Fanzone, children’s activities, food and drink.

Sport Parkinson’s CIC promotes exercise and participation in sporting activities for people with Parkinson’s Disease.

Sport Parkinson’s aim to encourage members and the wider Parkinson’s community to get active and take regular exercise to benefit their mental and physical health and improve their symptoms.

The Cure Parkinson’s Trust funds innovative research with the potential to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.
