Ollie Lawrence named in England squad to face France

Warriors centre Ollie Lawrence is in line to win his fifth England cap having been named as a replacement for Saturday’s Guinness Six Nations match against France at Twickenham (kick-off 4.45pm).

Lawrence has been recalled to the matchday squad by England Head Coach having started in the Six Nations opener against Scotland five weeks ago.

Lawrence made his international debut as a replacement against Italy in Rome in October in the delayed final match of the 2020 Six Nations and then started in the wins over Georgia and Ireland in the new Autumn Nations Cup in November.

“This France game is one we are really looking forward to,” Jones said.

“We are of course disappointed that we can’t defend the championship, but that makes this an even more important game.  We want to show what we are capable of.

“The squad have competed really hard in training since Sunday.  I believe this is the best 23 to really take the game to France and get us on the front foot.”
