Front-row Stef Evans joins Warriors

Warriors Women’s recruitment drive ahead of the 2021/22 Allianz Premier 15s season has gathered pace, with the signing of front-row Stef Evans from Bristol Bears.

Evans, 33, who hails from Canada, follows Japan fly-half Minori Yamamoto through the doors of Sixways Stadium as Warriors eye further additions in the run-up to the new campaign.

“It’s an honour to join Worcester Warriors,” said Evans.

“The coaching staff are incredibly experienced and passionate about their work – Jo, Bird and Sian are all legendary both as players and coaches.

“The playing group is full of talent and drive, and I’m very excited to get to work as a Warrior.”

Evans, an entrepreneur who set up her own clothing range Rugette RFC, also founded the #icare movement in response to the online trolling during this year’s Six Nations, with thousands of people coming together to support the future development of female participation and leadership within sport.

Jo Yapp, Warriors Women’s Director of Rugby said: “We are pleased to have Stef join us and she will help to strengthen our squad in a key position.

“She has been working hard and we are looking forward to her stepping out in Worcester Warriors colours.”
