Duhan van der Merwe to start for Scotland

Warriors wing Duhan van der Merwe will start for Scotland in Sunday’s Autumn International against Australia at Murrayfield.

It will be van der Merwe’s 11th Scotland cap but his first for them since he joined Warriors from Edinburgh Rugby during the summer.

Van der Merwe has scored eight tries in his first ten internationals for Scotland, form that helped to secure selection for the British and Irish Lions tour to South Africa during the summer where he started in all three Tests.

He will become the seventh player to be capped by Scotland while with Warriors following Ben Hinshelwood, Alex Grove, Euan Murray, David Denton, Cornell du Preez and Duncan Weir.

Van der Merwe scored a brace of tries for Warriors – his first for the club – in last Saturday’s 27-14 Gallagher Premiership win against Sale Sharks at Sixways.
