Loan round-up | Warriors hookers help Coventry to derby win

Warriors hookers Joe Richardson and Finn Theobald-Thomas helped a youthful Coventry side to a 35-12 bonus point win against Nottingham in Saturday’s Championship match at the Butts Park Arena.

Richardson started for injury-hit Coventry before being replaced by his Warriors team-mate five minutes from time.

It was Theobald-Thomas’ first Championship appearance having joined Coventry on a dual registration last week following a stint with Stourbridge in National Two North on a similar arrangement.

Richardson and Theobald-Thomas were among seven Warriors players in loan action on Saturday, five of whom finished on the winning side.

Back row forward Caleb Montgomery played the full 80 minutes for Cornish Pirates in their 19-17 win over Championship strugglers London Scottish at the Richmond Athletic Ground.

Centre Seb Atkinson started for Stourbridge and scored one of their six tries in a 38-22 win at Loughborough Students in National Two North. Wing Tobi Wilson, another member of the Three Pears Warriors Academy, among the replacements used by Stourbridge.

But there was disappointment for flanker Jack Forsythe and loosehead prop Ben Murphy as Luctonians were edged out 11-7 by Chester at Mortimer Park.

Forsythe started with and Murphy came off the bench for the Herefordshire club who claimed a losing bonus point.
