Modus Cup returns to Sixways

King’s School Worcester will be defending their title against old rivals RGS Worcester when the Modus Challenge Cup returns to Sixways on Wednesday (kick-off 7.00pm).

The fixture is one of the highlights of the schools’ rugby calendar and regularly attracts one of the biggest crowds to a schools’ match in England.

Last season’s Modus Cup was cancelled owing to COVID-19 but normal service will be resumed on Wednesday when Worcester’s two leading schools resume their rivalry and compete for the trophy for the 14th time.

King’s lifted the Modus Cup the last time it was contested in October 2019 with a 22-7 win which denied RGS a hat-trick of victories following their successes in 2017 (13-10) and 2018 (31-13).

Hooker Joe Richardson, now a member of the Three Pears Warriors Academy, was a member of the King’s team in both 2018 and 2019.

Warriors Club Captain Ted Hill will present this season’s Modus Cup to either Alex Terry (King’s) or Ben Gaubert (RGS).

Tickets for the Modus Cup on Wednesday November 17 can be purchased here
