Warriors pair help Luctonians to victory in local derby

Warriors pair Cheick Kone and Jack Forsythe helped Luctonians to a 24-19 win over Stourbridge in the National Two North  derby at Mortimer Park on Saturday.

Lock Kone and flanker Forsythe are both members of the Three Pears Warriors Academy and have been gaining valuable senior experience with Luctonians on dual registrations this season.

They both came off the bench on Saturday and played their part in helping Luctonians inflict a second defeat in three games on previous leaders Stourbridge in a feisty North Midlands derby.

Warriors back-row forward Morgan Monks also came off the bench for Ampthill who beat Nottingham 20-15 at Dillingham Park in the Championship.

Ampthill were trailing 15-10 at the break but rallied in the second half with Monks coming off the bench for the last ten minutes.

Warriors hooker Joe Richardson started for Coventry and played the first 69 minutes for Coventry in their 31-9 defeat by Doncaster Knights at Castle Park.

Lock James Scott was due to be on Hartpury’s bench for their match against Championship Ealing Trailfinders at the Alpas Arena but the game was postponed following positive COVID-19 tests in the Ealing camp.
