Team News | 50 up for Ashley Beck

Wales international centre Ashley Beck will make his 50th appearance for Warriors in Saturday’s Gallagher Premiership match against Northampton Saints at Sixways (kick-off 3.00pm).

Beck arrived at Sixways from Ospreys ahead of the 2018/19 season having won seven caps.

The 31-year-old’s first season at Sixways was curtailed by a broken ankle but he has since become a dependable and consistent performer in the Premiership.

Beck will reach the 50 appearances milestone by making his 38th start for the club.

Scotland international loosehead prop Rory Sutherland returns to the side having served a suspension following his sending off at Bath three weeks ago.

Sutherland was initially suspended for three games but that was reduced to two after he successfully completed a World Rugby Coach Intervention course.

Duhan van der Merwe has recovered from the illness that prevented him from taking part in Scotland’s Six Nations training camp in Edinburgh last week and he will start on the left wing.

Billy Searle, who scored 16 points in the win over Zebre in the EPCR Challenge Cup last week, switches from fly-half to full-back in place of the injured Jamie Shillcock in the only change to the starting XV from Warriors’ last Premiership match.

Wales fly-half Owen Williams is set to make his first appearance in almost four months off the bench. Williams tore a hamstring kicking for goal against Gloucester on October 2, an injury that required surgery.
