TEAM NEWS | Gloucester-Hartpury v Warriors Women

Caity Mattinson returns to Warriors Women’s starting XV for tomorrow’s Allianz Premier 15s clash with Gloucester Hartpury at Kingsholm (kick-off 5.30pm).

The scrum-half, along with Lisa Cockburn and Lana Skeldon helped Scotland secure World Cup qualification in Dubai last week thanks to a 59-3 victory over Colombia.

Mattinson is one of six changes to the side that tasted defeat at Exeter Chiefs last weekend, with Paige Farries, Cat McNaney. Minori Yamamoto, Amelia Buckland Hurry and Cara Brincat all starting.

England wing Lydia Thompson, who has been in fine form for her club ahead of the TikTok Six nations, skippers the side.

“We were really disappointed with our performance last week and it wasn’t a reflection of where we are at as a squad,” said Jo Yapp, Warriors Women Director of Rugby.

“This week the players have bounced back, stepped up and showed great character. Playing at Kingsholm is a really good opportunity for the players and they are looking forward to the challenge.

“I’m pleased to welcome back Caity and Lisa from the Scotland commitments and they have brought real energy to the squad this week.”
