Mixed fortunes for Warriors players in loan action

Warriors pair Ben Murphy and Cheick Kone helped Luctonians beat North Midlands rivals Bournville to a 35-12 bonus point win at Avery Fields in National Two North on Saturday.

The Three Pears Warriors Academy duo have spent most of the season on dual registrations with the Herefordshire club and have benefited from playing regular senior rugby. Murphy also had a stint with Hartpury in the Championship earlier this year.

Loosehead prop Murphy started for Luctonians with lock Kone used as a replacement.

Warriors hooker Joe Richardson also came off the bench to help Coventry to a 17-15 win over Bedford Blues at Goldington Road in the Championship on Friday night.

Richardson came on in the 70th minute and helped Coventry hold on for victory in a tense finish.

Scrum-half Ollie Wynn made his debut for Hartpury in their 20-12 Championship defeat against Richmond at the Athletic Ground on Saturday.

Wynn played for Ampthill in the same competition earlier in the season and had twice been an unused replacement for Hartpury before he came off the bench 12 minutes from time against Richmond.

Wynn’s Warriors team-mate Lewis Holsey started at loosehead prop for Hartpury and played the first 52 minutes.
