New Signing | Jess Kershaw inks senior forms

Exciting scrum-half Jess Kershaw has penned senior terms with Warriors Women ahead of this Saturday’s Allianz Cup clash with Sale Sharks at Sixways Stadium (kick-off 2pm).

Kershaw, 19, who is the twin sister of full-back Abi, has been on loan from Worcester RFC this season – quickly establishing herself within the first team squad.

Making her debut during an emphatic 17-0 cup victory over Saracens last October, the Centre of Excellence graduate has since featured in four Premier 15s matches to underline her growing credentials at this level.

“Jess thoroughly deserves the opportunity to make the step up and she’s got a really bright future ahead of her,” said Jo Yapp, Warriors Women Director of Rugby.

“She has lots of potential and her development will benefit from training alongside international scrum-halves Caity Mattinson and Ffion Lewis, who are both set to feature in the upcoming TikTok Women’s Six Nations.”

Kershaw is set to feature for Warriors this weekend in a game which could see the club progress to the knock-out stages of the competition.

Benny Williams, Head of Women’s Development added: “I’m thrilled that Jess has committed her future to the club, a player whose progress we have been monitoring closely for some time now.

“We are really proud to see one of our own making the grade at senior level and her performances in the Allianz Premier 15s this campaign have been impressive.”
