Alex Matthews scored a stunning try to help England maintain their perfect start to this year’s TikTok Six Nations with a 58-5 victory over Wales in front of a record crowd at Kingsholm.
Matthews, who is closing in on her 50th Red Roses cap, crossed for try number seven on 64 minutes – the back-row taking Abbie Ward’s floated pass, before crashing past a flurry of red shirts on her way to the try line.
There were four Warriors in the Wales team, which battled bravely throughout the afternoon, with Sioned Harries, Carys Phillips, Ffion Lewis and Alex Callender all involved.
Meanwhile, Lana Sjeldon, Caity Mattinson and Lyndsay O’Donnell all featured for Scotland during Sunday’s 28-8 defeat to France at Scotstoun Stadium.
